Lead Video Editor Wanted

Soho Productions is leading the client's new ‘playful learning’ initiative; they have partnered with Sesame Street and are engaged in bringing the world’s most popular children’s television program to life on the xbox through Kinect. As a Lead Video Artist you will be expected to bring your industry-leading experience to our video department and help guide our team in the production of this new interactive medium. As well as individually creating bespoke motion graphics and editing video you will be expected to help run a team of artists along with our Principal Video Artist. You will be responsible for both producing and overseeing work to an exceptional level of quality, including editing rushes, motion graphics, digital set replacement as well as conforming & finishing of production videos and the exporting of final assets. Your in-depth knowledge of the film and TV world will be vital to achieving the extremely high standards they have set themselves.
The chance to work with the biggest and most loved children’s franchise is a huge responsibility and they are looking for exceptional individuals capable of taking up this challenge.

Skills:

• At least 6 years of post-production experience
• A Showreel is required
• Clear understanding of the editing process, timing, FX generation, composition structure, Matte work & Video project management
• Expert knowledge of Premier and After Effects (CS4 +)
• Working knowledge of Nuke is also desirable
• Should have experience liaising with other departments to source materials (Video and Motion Graphics)
• Practical knowledge of running a small team of video artists though the life cycle of a project.
• Demonstrable understanding of the fundamental aspects of film editing.
• The candidate must have experience of working with green screens & mattes.
• Should have an expert understanding of Video file types and codecs. With practical experience of exporting video to various formats including Broadcast, DVD & Web. (Using Premiere & Microsoft Expression Encoder)

Qualifications:

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the film / TV post production process
• The candidate should have a core skill set in both Editing & Motion Graphics.
• Working experience of at least 1 editing & 1 Post Production / Compositing package (demonstrable in show reel)
• The candidate must have a practical experience of working through an entire production (from source material delivery through initial edit to post production delivery)
• The candidate should also be able to take ownership of project tasks and also be pro-active in their approach to their workload.
• Experience of working on a shoot is beneficial but not essential.


The pay rate for this position will be between £200 - £300 per day. This contract will go on till the 31st of March 2012.
