Batman: The Dark Knight Rises

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight Rises

Today’s biggest film news was, without a doubt, the announcement that Christopher Nolan has titled the third Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, and that the film will not shoot in 3D or be released in post-converted fashion. Now there are a few more quotes from the director about his choice of presentation for the film, and they suggest wonderful things about what we might eventually see.
The LA Times once again has the scoop here, and Mr. Nolan told the paper that he wants this third film to “carry on with that look and feel” of The Dark Knight, specifically with respect to the “large canvas and operatic sweep” of his Batman blockbuster. That’s one of the core reasons that the film will shoot and be presented in flat IMAX format rather than 3D. Another issue is the fact that 3D presents a more dim image than a traditional projection.
But that’s not even the good bit. The good bit comes in his expansion of that comment:
There’s an intimacy at times [with spatial illusion of the 3D effect] and we want didn’t want to lose scale… our ambitions for the third movie is to complete a story that has begun. This is not starting over, this not rebooting… We’re looking to do something technologically that’s never been done before… Our ambitions are to make a great movie.

Ah ok, Venum ! Bon, ça me va très bien.

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle (AKA Catwoman) in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Christopher Nolan stated, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story."
In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies."
Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
Shooting on "The Dark Knight Rises" is set to take place in Jodhpur, India reports Daily Bhaskar.
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has reportedly given the go-ahead to US-based Cape Road Productions to lens part of the next Batman flick in the Blue City.
A unique locale, Jodhpur is dominated by two geographical features - the imposing hilltop Mehrangarh Fort and the blue-painted houses that surround it. The fort itself has been used on film before, most recently in Tarsem's acclaimed "The Fall".
The news comes as photos popped up online this week of actors Tom Hardy and Christian Bale. The former has obviously been working out and shows off a beefier frame in photos here , though there's no sign of a costume.
The photo of Bale, which looks like he's been on the receiving end of a major punch-up, is more contentious as some have suggested it's a make-up test shot from the film while others think it's the same but from an earlier movie or his most recent project "13 Flowers of Nanjing". (Update: Thanks to our savvy readers, the much debated about Bale photo has been debunked. It's a make-up test shot from "Rescue Dawn" and can be seen here)
The film's six-month shoot is set to kick off next month.

Re: Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
